Combating the Islamic State a.k.a. ISIS is not a one person job. France and Anonymous have each so far waged wars of their own against ISIS by raiding Syria and shutting down Twitter accounts associated with ISIS, respectively. But the terrorist group has shown no signs of deterring, in fact, it's made more threats against places in Europe such as Italy and France and key places on U.S. soil such as Washington, D.C. and New York City. The feds shouldn't worry about the latter too much, mafia son Giovanni Gambino said in an interview, because the Sicilian Mafia will be the ones to protect New York and ISIS is afraid of the Sicilian Mafia.

Gambino, son of mafia boss John Gambino, told NBC News that this is an opportunity for the mafia to do some good, this time for The Big Apple. He said, "The Mafia has a bad reputation, but much of that's undeserved. As with everything in life, there are good, bad and ugly parts—the rise of global terrorism gives the Mafia a chance to show its good side."

He assured New Yorkers should feel safe from ISIS. "We make sure our friends and families are protected from extremists and terrorists, especially the brutal, psychopathic organization that calls itself the Islamic State," said Gambino. Look no further than Italy’s Sicily. According to Gambino, ISIS hasn't built any "underground cells" in Sicily because of its fear of the Mob. He also notes how the island hasn’t had any terrorist attacks.

Gambino said government law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and Homeland Security cannot offer the same kind of protection as the Sicilian Mafia because they frequently "act too late" or just lack "human intelligence," despite being equipped with sophisticated technology.
