Matt Damon Wants to Be the Next 'Daredevil,' But Only If Christopher Nolan Directs

“If Chris Nolan came up to me and said, ‘I want to do Daredevil,’ I would be in," Damon says. "That's the comic we read when we were kids."

Matt Damon is a big fan of his pal Ben Affleck's 2003 attempt at giving Daredevil a proper cinematic home, a widely despised misfire that remains a source of contention to this day. "The movie ended up doing very well," Damon said while promoting his current Martian adventure, "even though I don't think Ben was ultimately very proud of it." In fact, Damon would actually be up for a possible misfire of his own, giving Daredevil a Damon makeover. However, this is only going to happen under one circumstance:

Christopher Nolan.

"If Chris Nolan came up to me and said, 'I want to do Daredevil,' I would be in," Damon told the New York Daily News. "For us it was always Daredevil. That's the comic we read when we were kids. But when that one came along (in 2003), I chickened out because I couldn't tell. I hadn't seen the director (Mark Steven Johnson's) work and I didn't know. So I just said, 'No.' Ben was like, 'I gotta do it.'"

As promising a duo as Damon and Nolan would most certainly be, this is a downright impossible scenario that wouldn't even make sense in some ridiculous parallel universe. Life is unfair, and Marvel forgets nothing.
