Catholics have no problem sipping wine from the same cup as everyone else in church (even during flu season), so it's no surprise that Catholic U.S. Rep. Bob Brady had no issues with sharing a little backwash with the pope.
Brady, a Democrat from Philly, told the Philadelphia Inquirer that after Pope Francis visited Congress on Wednesday he calmly walked up to the lectern and found the half-full glass of water the pontiff had been sipping from during his speech.
Brady took the "holy water" back to his office where he sipped it before his wife and two of his staffers had a drink. When they were done, Pennsylvania senator Bob Casey stopped by the office with his wife and mother and the three of them proceeded to dip their fingers in the water, for some reason.
Casey reportedly saved the rest of the water to bless his four grandchildren with.
