A 16-year-old girl Shira Banki died today after she was stabbed by an ultra-Orthodox man at the Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem on Thursday. Five other people were wounded in the attack.
A gay rights group, Jerusalem Open House, said in a statement that Banki was in critical condition after the stabbing. From Facebook:

The attacker, Yishai Shlissel, was released from prison early about three weeks ago; he was serving a 12-year sentence for attacking and wounding three people at a pride parade in 2005.

Israel's Prime Miniser, Benjamin Netanyahu, said that attack was a "despicable hate crime" and offered his condolences to her family and friends.
