Drunk Man Seeking Last Word in Argument With Dead Dad Digs Up His Grave to Finish It

Kentucky, stand up. It's your turn to take some shine from Florida.

The only thing that could possibly make a particularly heated argument any worse is if one of the two relentless debaters dropped dead before the much-desired final word was given by the presumed victor. Sadly, that exact loss of closure seemingly afflicted 44-year-old Kentuckian Michael Dale May, who was arrested on Monday after reportedly trying to dig up the grave of his dead dad to "finish an argument."

May, who was profoundly drunk upon his arrest, was spotted by Lincoln County Constable Delbert Mitchell after noticing a suspicious vehicle parked near the Pilot Baptist Church cemetery in Stanford, Kentucky. According to the Mirror, Mitchell called out to May, who quickly responded with the simple explanation of being rather busy digging up his dead father so that he could finish an argument. The resolved argument, according to Mitchell's account, would prompt May's father to be relocated to heaven.

Though May's father has been deceased for 30 years, he says he's likely not finished with his ongoing attempt to get the last word. When speaking to LEX 18 from the Lincoln County jail, May said he planned to dig up his father again in the very near future "if the truth doesn't come out." May is being charged with violating a grave, public intoxication, and possession of marijuana.
