Donald Trump Hints at Sarah Palin as Possible Running Mate, Earth Promptly Implodes

In a recent interview with a Palin fan station (?), Trump called Palin a "special person."

Deez Nuts can't catch a break. Shortly after filing the required paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Sunday, Nuts (an actual person) had to endure the news of a possible Donald Trump / Sarah Palin joint ticket. Now, as much as it pains your intellectual little heart to say those two names in quick succession, it hurts Deez Nuts even more — as many respected political journalists (okay, that was just me) spent Monday and Tuesday speculating that Trump might reach out to Nuts to start building a joint ticket of their own. Sadly, recent Trump comments suggest a very different collaboration ahead for the permanently bald and currently unemployed reality TV star.

Speaking with noted Sarah Palin scholar (?) Kevin Scholla on talk radio show The Palin Update (which, we should add, airs on something called Mama Grizzly Radio), Trump expressed nothing but aloof appreciation of Palin's supposed contributions to the national political conversation. When asked by fellow troll Scholla about a possible position for Palin within Trump's (very much theoretical) administration, Trump says he'd "love that." According to Trump, Palin is "somebody who knows what’s happening and she’s a special person. She’s really a special person and I think people know that."

"Everybody loves hers," Trump supposedly adds without laughing at all. In case you missed it, Palin's recent contribution to the national political conversation revolves around her assertion that the Planned Parenthood logo should be viewed as far more offensive than the Confederate flag. So, yeah, I suppose a Trump / Palin ticket makes sense in the same way that an Adam Sandler / Kevin James movie makes sense — leaders of mindlessness recognize fellow leaders of mindlessness.
