The people at Syfy, the cable network that brought you modern American (shark) classics such as Sharknado 2, Sharktopus, Sharks In Venice and Ghost Shark, comes a new (non-shark) series about a brutal race across an apocalyptic U.S. in cars fueled by blood.
Also, we're assuming that's human blood, because otherwise a major dramatic dilemma faced by the characters wouldn't be all that compelling, like if it was squirrel blood or something.
Anyway, as the AV Club reports, the network has ordered 13 episodes of the cleverly-titled Blood Drive.
From the Syfy press release:
“Blood Drive,” a high-octane, over-the-top scripted series in the classic grindhouse movie tradition. Set in a near-apocalyptic future, the 13-episode series centers around LA’s last good cop, who is forced to join a twisted, gory cross-country death race — with cars powered by blood and a dangerous femme fatale partner who sees people as fuel."
It could be Syfy's biggest hit yet (non-shark, of course).
