Stephen Colbert unveiled a new marquee at the Ed Sullivan Theater, but it has more to do with pizza than 'Late Show.'

How do you follow up interviewing Eminem on Michiganpublic access TV? Apparently, you unveil your new marquee at the Ed Sullivan Theater with a distinctly pizza-centric twist. Nearing his September 8th Late Show premiere, the ever-brilliant Stephen Colbert debuted the new (presumably temporary) marquee to much tweeted applause.

Of course, the new marquee is perhaps most welcomed by Angelo's — the Ed Sullivan Theater's neighboring restaurant and newfound recipient of the Colbert bump. True Colbert scholars will note that this is far from Jimmy Fallon's future competition's first public display of adoration for the Italian export. As mirrored meta opposite "Stephen Colbert," Colbert once took aim at Pizza Hut's new eye-tracking ordering process:

Though Colbert Report-era Colbert successfully mastered the worlds of ice cream and pistachios via some finely tuned crossover marketing, inquiring minds can't help but ponder the limitless possibilities of a future Colbert / pizza hybrid. Colpizza, maybe?
