Last Friday, July 24, the good ship The Hornblower Hybrid became the site of this year’s kickoff event for #SUMMERFRIDAYS, the party series that will be going down throughout the summer in Manhattan, brought to you by Team Epiphany and Complex. The all-white party featured beverages from Tequila Avión, which provided tropical cocktails aptly named “The Paradise, “The Wave” and “The Nirvana,” as well as Heineken and Evian. Food on the ship included delicacies like lamb skewers, crab cakes, sliders, and bruschetta. These partygoers weren’t just there to nosh, though—they came to move. They set the ship rocking to the tunes of DJ Wonder, who spun throughout the event and recorded his mix for those who didn’t make the cut, presented by JBL Audio.
Once the ship set sail, guests took in amazing views of NYC landmarks, such as the Freedom Tower, Brooklyn Bridge, and Statue of Liberty. Partners JBL and New Era were on board for the duration of the party, setting up shop in the boat’s VIP area, providing an exclusive gifting experience for handpicked influencers including Mr. Flawless, Arzo Anwar, and more. The Hornblower stayed live until it docked back on Manhattan’s West Side, right around sunset.
