The backlash against Donald Trump and his racist remarks about Mexican immigrants is continuing to pour in, and the 2016 presidential candidate refuses to back down. Before Macy's cut ties with him earlier today, Eva Longoria joined the opposition and admitted she'd previously declined to comment because she didn't want "to contribute to the emotional poison." She toldE! yesterday at a media luncheon:

What I don't think he understands and what people don't understand is words create emotional poison. That's what they do, they create emotional poison. Hitler moved a nation with words, just words. So you have to expect this backlash. If you say something like that, as he has said, you must expect a backlash.

At his campaign announcement last month, Trump said Mexicans coming into this country are "bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people." Univision dumped him and his Miss USA pageant in response, and NBC followed the network's lead by firing him

Still, Trump is sticking to his racist guns. He's filed a $500 million lawsuit against Univision and announced he'd take NBC to court as well. A statement from his camp said, "While Univision claims its decision came solely in response to comments by Mr. Trump during a June 16, 2015 campaign speech announcing his candidacy for President of the United States, the decision was, in reality, a politically motivated attempt to suppress Mr. Trump’s freedom of speech under the First Amendment as he begins to campaign for the nation’s presidency."

Univision called the suit "factually false and legally ridiculous," saying it'll defend itself vigorously.

And because he can't forget any of his enemies, Trump took to Twitter today to call for a Macy's boycott and double down on his remarks.

Those who believe in tight border security, stopping illegal immigration & SMART trade deals w/other countries should boycott @Macys.
For all of those who want to #MakeAmericaGreatAgain, boycott @Macys. They are weak on border security & stopping illegal immigration.

Update 7/1/15 (11:51 p.m.): Left to his devices, Trump continued to bash Macy's, and even took shots at former Governor of New York, George Pataki, who asked other Republicans to "denounce" Trump and "stand up for our party, for the ideas that made America great" on Twitter.

.@GovernorPataki was a terrible governor of NY, one of the worst -- would’ve been swamped if he ran again!
.@GovernorPataki couldn’t be elected dog catcher if he ran again—so he didn’t!
Interesting that @Macys criticized me but just paid $650,000 in fines for racial profiling. Are they racists?
Who is @Macys to pretend innocence when they “racial profile” all over the place? Paid big fine!
