Detractors be damned, Ant-Man is well on its way to unfettered success — with early tracking reports strongly suggesting a totally reasonable opening weekend haul of around $65 million. The film — marking the 12th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) — appears to have risen from what many assumed were creative ashes following the initial departure of original writer / director Edgar Wright.

Of course, the presence of Paul Rudd certainly doesn't hurt potential box office (and/or likability) receipts. As previously released clips and trailers have proven, Rudd is the perfect choice for the man of ant and the controlled lunacy inherent in the story of Scott Lang. In a new teaser styled as a (faux) news report (see above), WHIH anchor Christine Everhart (Leslie Bibb) gives a brief update on the status of Lang — in prison for purported cyber crimes. Additionally, Everhart mentions "the fallout of the most recent Avengers conflict in Sokovia," a move which subtly makes a direct connection between Ant-Man and the rest of the MCU.

According to the WHIH Twitter account, the full "exclusive" story on Scott Lang will debut on Tuesday, July 7:
