As expected, the bulk of opposition surrounding the Supreme Court's decision to stand for marriage equality centers on archaic sentiments of poorly masked bigotry — namely "How do I explain this to my kids?" (as if explaining multiple divorces between heterosexual couples is a breeze?) On Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy Kimmel decided to flip this low-key homophobic question on its side by directly asking kids to give their thoughts on same-sex marriage.
The results (see above) are as hilarious and enlightening as you might expect, with one particularly informed kid expressing his support for same-sex marriage while also highlighting a firm opposition to marriage in his own life — due to the fact that "when you get married, the other person is entitled to any money the other person has."
Hey, equality opposers — even Donald Trump and some random kids on the streets of Los Angeles are now more enlightened than you. Join us in the future. present.
