In case you missed it, this year's Furious 7 grossed over $1.5 billion — meaning we are many years away from seeing the final entry in the Fast & Furious saga. In fact, Furious 8 is already slated for a 2017 release — with Furious 7 newcomer Jason Statham promising a return from his character Deckard Shaw.

"We're already talking about doing another one," Statham tellsAccess Hollywood. "I'm a newcomer, you know. I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.” Furious 7 left Shaw in a position unlikely to be easily changed — meaning one should likely expect the beautifully improbable.

Furious 8 will also make over $1.5 billion starting on April 14, 2015.
