Serial, the most popular podcast in the world and the one that may have changed the game for the entire medium of podcasting, is coming back for not one, but two more seasons.

A message sent to Serial newsletter subscribers announced that Season 2 will begin in the fall of 2015, and that Season 3 is already in the works and set to premiere in the spring of 2016.

"We are hard at work reporting not one, but two distinct new stories," the announcement said. "Sorry - we can’t tell you details about the new stories yet. What we can say is that they’re very different from Season One, but no less interesting to us."

In Season 1, reporter Sarah Koenig focused on the case of Adnan Syed, a guy currently serving life in prison for the murder of his high school girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Koenig and her team meticulously re-reported the entire crime, along with extensive phone interviews with Syed via phone, and basically made everyone question everything.

They also became the first podcast to get a parody on Saturday Night Livewhich probably made a few people discover that podcasts were a thing that existed.
