"Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters," VP of communications Tom Schroder wrote. "Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways—only at Universal theme parks. The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal’s theme parks and will feature Nintendo’s most famous characters and games."
The announcement didn't get into specifics about what the attractions would be or which parks would get them. Universal operates Universal Orlando and Universal Hollywood Studios in California as well as attractions in Singapore and Japan.
You just know this is going to be good, though. Don't forget, this is the same company that built a real-life Springfield complete with a Moe's Tavern serving Duff beer around its Simpsons ride, and its massive Harry Potter attraction is insanely detailed. Both of those are at the Orlando location.
The news comes just a day after Universal Orlando announced a new King Kong ride that will open in 2016.
