Joss Whedon recently guest starred on Empire Magazine's podcast to dish about what sent on behind the scenes during the making of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the podcast, which runs over an hour and a half long, Whedon discusses some of his unfulfilled wishes for the film, like having Spider-Man and Captain Marvel show up at the end. [Warning: Mild spoilers, so if you haven't seen the movie, you might want to stop here.]

At the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron, the New Avengers show up—teasing to the next two-part installment in the franchise: Avengers: Infinity War 1 and 2. Whedon would've liked to have Captain Marvel and Spider-Man in those movies, but Marvel and Sony didn't wrap up talks in time for that. Here he explains:

"I wanted all those people [at the end], but it would be great if we could add a few more," said Whedon, meaning Capital Marvel. "And Spider-Man, we could do that, too? ... I would've put both of them in, but neither of those deals were made."

Ah, shucks. Don't worry, Whedon—the Marvel Cinematic Universe is growing all the time, so maybe a Sony collab is in the cards down the road.
