Speculation is still circulating about who will be David Letterman's final guest, but we can officially rule out Jay Leno. Late Show executive producer Rob Burnett told CNN they wanted Letterman's former rival for the finale but it "didn't come to pass." It would have been Leno's first appearance on Letterman since 1992, before they began airing opposite of each other and battling in the ratings.

Whoever the surprise guests end up being, we can expect highlights from past episodes and "a beautiful ending to the show that Barbara Gaines, one of our executive producers, really marshaled," Burnett says.

And do know who the last band will be. It's no surprise that Letterman's favorite band, Foo Fighters, will perform in tonight's finale, according to the Rolling Stone. After undergoing emergency quintuple bypass surgery Letterman asked the band to come on the show to play "Everlast," his favorite song that proved inspirational during his recovery.
