On Wednesday night David Letterman made his star-studded departure from the Late Show, and by Thursday evening much of his home at the Ed Sullivan Theater was already in the trash. CBS wasted no time mourning, as his set was thrown into the dumpster for more than a dozen of his most dedicated fans to rummage through. Letterman's desk, which is headed to the Smithsonian, and the replica of the George Washington Bridge were some of the few items more ceremoniously hauled away.

If you missed out on the scavenging yesterday, you could still become the owner of another Letterman set, albeit for much greater cost. Background props from the NBC Late Night set used from 1982 to 1993 are up on eBay with a starting bid of $10,000, Screen Rant has discovered. The seller says he found them in New York 20 years ago and has been sitting on them ever since.
