The New Golden Age of Television has removed the stigma for A-list actors appearing in TV shows, but Bradley Cooper managed to find a new gig that feels like a step backward. CBS announced today Cooper will have a recurring role in the Limitless TV adaption, EW reports. He was previously set to reprise his role as Edward Mora in the pilot, but now he'll continue to play the character throughout the series. Mora, who's now a senator and presidential hopeful, will act as the mentor to the show's lead character, Brian Finch (Jake McDorman).
We can't help but wonder why Cooper has signed up for the show. Limitless will probably be entertaining enough, but it won't be in the upper echelon of shows that would add to his prestige. Maybe he's that big of a Limitless fan. Maybe the role is so close to his heart he doesn't mind slumming it on CBS, where the actors don't have half his success.
Or maybe he's getting a fat stack of guap for a relatively small amount of work. That's gotta be it. Let's not forget CBS once paid Charlie Sheen nearly $2 million per episode for Two and a Half Men.
