Ryan Howard and Kelly Kapoor, a.k.a. the 00s version of Jerry and Elaine, will finally return to the tumultuous waters of partnership — vicariously, at least. At Saturday's BookCon event in New York, B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling confirmed that they were currently working on a forthcoming book together. BookCon, of course, is the literary equivalent of San Diego's Comic-Con — only with less cosplay.

Associated Press quotes two anonymous publishing officials as saying the Kaling / Novak book deal is worth "at least $7 million," meaning Penguin Random House has reasonable faith in the former The Office costars' collaboration. After all, why wouldn't they? Both Novak and Kaling have enjoyed literary success in their post-Office careers, with Kaling's forthcoming second book Why Not Me? serving as the centerpiece for Kaling and Novak's BookCon appearance. During the discussion, Novak played the part of slightly condescending interviewer to Kaling's playful interviewee. Reportedly, the two made their fair share of references to the duo's once-romantic past.

On an unrelated note, Kaling — when responding to a question from the audience — made a very convincing argument for a Dave Chappelle guest appearance on the Hulu-rescued The Mindy Project:

“Imagine if like Dave Chappelle was, like, a single dad that Mindy was sort of, like, in love with even though she was in a relationship. That’d be amazing.”

Yes, Mindy. Make that happen!
