Whether you're completely obsessed with the trailer, or you refuse to see it before the movie hits theaters, there's no doubt that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going to be awesome. And now we have two more reasons to get excited: Vanity Fair scored exclusive photos of Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong'o from the set of the film, and revealed which characters they're playing.

Vanity Fair sent Annie Leibovitz to photograph the set of The Force Awakens, and the results are stunning. Leibovitz also confirmed that Driver, the star from Girls, will play the brooding Kylo Ren, and Nyong'o will play Maz Kanata, a member of the Rebel Alliance (which is now called the Resistance).

The VF photos show Driver dressed in all black, sporting long-ish hair, and followed by ominous Storm Troopers. They also reveal that Nyong'o's character will be CGI, which is an interesting detail, but doesn't tell us much else. A group shot also reveals that Kanata is a pirate.

So what's it all mean? When will we get our next timely update from the production? What's Driver going to look like wielding the three-pronged lightsaber? Only time will tell, but we're excited.
