Big Teen News: Nina Dobrev Is Leaving 'The Vampire Diaries'

Teens still digesting the news about One Direction losing Zayn Malik just got dealt another devastating blow: Nina Dobrev is leaving The Vampire Diaries. The teen idol, who played Elena Gilbert for six years on the show, (also known for her baby mama-turned-model role on Degrassi) broke the news on her Instagram in a lengthy post where she said goodbye to her TVD fans and explained her departure:

“…I always knew I wanted Elena’s story to be a six season adventure, and within those six years I got the journey of a lifetime. I was a human, a vampire, a doppelganger, a crazy immortal, a doppelganger pretending to be human, a human pretending to be a doppelganger. I got kidnapped, killed, resurrected, tortured, cursed, body-snatched, was dead and undead, and there’s still so much more to come before the season finale in May…”

The news comes following a weekend farewell getaway Dobrev had with her TVD castmates, which foreshadowed the news since castmates posted pictures with #NinaWeWillMissYou. I'm sure that's how TVD fans feel too.
