The highly anticipated Avengers: Civil War has yet to come out, but Marvel has already announced the release dates for the Avengers' Phase Three movie (that's Marvel Cinematic Universe talk for the third story arc in a superhero franchise). The movie is titled Avengers: Infinity War, and it's set to be released in two parts: one in May 2018, and the other in may 2019. In 2019, we'll be wrapping up the first term of the 46th president, and gearing up for another uncertain election campaign cycle, but it's kind of nice to know that Marvel can plan that far ahead into the future.
Because the movie is being released in two parts, that means that the cast will spend nine months shooting both movies back to back. Collider spoke to Chris Evans about it, and while spending three fourths of a year working on a single project sounds intimidating, the actor doesn't sound like he's dreading it: "You know, you plan around the Marvel responsibilities,” he said. “You have to."
He's probably consoling himself by thinking about the oodles and oodles of money he's going to make from the movie release, which is fair. Filming for Avengers: Infinity War will start in late 2016, and Avengers: Civil War comes out in theaters this May 1.
