The 80's are back. Well, kind of. The mullet of Joe Dirt's past is returning in the comedy sequel Joe Dirt II: Beautiful Loser teaser trailer. Joe, played by David Spade, finds himself in the past where he begins his journey to get back the people he loves.

"Joe ‘Keeps on keepin’ on,’” Spade tells Entertainment Weekly. “He’s married now and doing his best, but things don’t all go perfectly for him, as usual. Like he says in the movie, when he gets a setback, ‘I just keep getting stupider.’”

Why bring Joe back after all these years? “I’ve always liked the movie a lot,” Spade says. “But I also go by feedback from people I see or [what they write] on Twitter and Instagram. Besides Tommy Boy, this is the most talked-about movie for me. After 10 years of people still asking about a sequel, we finally found a good way to do it…. Joe is a fun character to play. I’m stoked for everyone to see it.”

Other actors returning include Christopher Walken, Brittany Daniel, Dennis Miller, Adam Beach, and Mark McGrath.

Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production company is reviving Joe Dirt exclusively online via Sony's Crackle streaming service sometime this year.

Spade is pretty fired up, saying that “I’m beyond stoked that Joe Dirt will finally hit the screens again on Crackle. I’ve been sleeping in this wig for years and it will be nice to wear it in the daytime again.”
