Though producer Avi Lerner had recently stepped up to possibly finance the project in light of growing financial concerns, the Bruce Willis action-thriller Wake is now officially dead. Multiple reports confirm that both Willis and director John Pogue have exited the project, which finished five days of shooting in February before being mysteriously shut down.

Though it's easy for some to dismiss the bulk of the Bruce Willis canon as far too action-heavy (no loss with Wake then, right?), we must also remember that he's the same guy who truly brings his A+ game for Wes Anderson. As recently reported, Willis will likely bring a comparable level of game to his forthcoming Woody Allen debut alongside Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg.

With this temporary opening in his schedule, maybe Bruce will find it in his heart to give the world the "Respect Yourself" remix we so clearly deserve.
