Another day, another failed prom plot. There's apparently a term for this stuff: "stunt prom dates." Oregon high schooler Austin Moore can add his name to the storied list. He actually got the date, but his principal isn't allowing it. Moore wanted to take his friend's cousin Mariah Rivera, who's a showgirl in Las Vegas, to prom, so naturally he took to Twitter. Never mind the fact that she's married and he's probably a super cool 17-year-old.

So I was asked to go to Prom! He asked if he gets 10k RT if I'd come in my prom group! Please RT his post!! 💋👆

Rivera agreed, but only if he could get 10,000 retweets, because the thirst is real. Moore succeeded—alas, he won't be rolling into prom with a girl way out of his league this year. Regis High School principal Scott Coulter said they all got a big laugh out of Moore's attempt. "All prom guests have to be 19 and under. Austin's not in trouble," he said. "We just laughed about it and I said this just isn't going to happen."

Moore seems to be enjoying his 15 minutes of fame, but apparently is taking his actual girlfriend to prom instead of Rivera. Cue crying emojis.
