Poor George R.R. Martin has been getting flack since forever for enjoying conventions and living life instead of chaining himself to a desk to write Winds of Winter, the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Which turns out isn’t a big deal anymore since Game of Thrones will spoil WoW, but we digress. Fans can rest easy, for now, because George R.R. Martin will not be distracted by writing for season six of the TV juggernaut, the author just announced on his blog.

1.

"Writing a season six script would cost me a month's work on Winds [of Winter], and maybe as much as six weeks, and I cannot afford that,” wrote Martin.

Martin already skipped writing for season five, for the same reason. GRRM usually writes one episode per season and so he’ll be missed once again.
