David Carr, whose popular New York Times column Media Equation analyzed media's impact on culture, business and the political sphere, died at his office tonight. He was 58 years old.
Mr. Carr had been contributing to the Times since 2002. He monitored the fluidity of media, from the evolution of digital to the state of print, film and radio. He never shied away from detailing his personal life and experiences, either. He is survived by his wife, Jill, and their daughters Maddie, Erin and Meagan.
