The charges against the Times Square Spider-Man who fought with NYPD officers last summer have been dismissed, authorities say.
According to the New York Daily News, 25-year-old Junior Bishop was arrested in July after getting into a fight with police who accosted him for panhandling. One of the officers reportedly sustained injuries to his face after his glasses were broken during the scuffle, and Bishop was ultimately charged with resisting arrest, assault, and criminal mischief.
However, the Daily News notes that the case was abruptly tossed out on Friday:
On Friday, the Manhattan district attorney’s office consented to the case’s dismissal on speedy trial grounds.
