Actor Rod Taylor, whose career in Hollywod goes back to the 50s, has passed away at age 84. The veteran actor is best known for his staring roles in The Time Machine and Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. He most recently played Winston Churchill in Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards.
Taylor was born and raised in Australia before moving to Hollywood in the 50s. His breakthrough role was playing Herbert George Wells in 1960's The Time Machine. Dating back to 1951, his IMDB page lists 92 acting credits, including TV and movies.
Taylor's daughter confirmed the news, saying, "My dad loved his work. Being an actor was his passion—calling it an honorable art and something he couldn’t live without."
