The Sopranos creator David Chase still won't tell us whether or not Tony died at the end of the series, but he's given us an equally buzz-worthy quote. In an interview with the Associated Press Chase said he's intrigued by the idea of doing a Sopranos prequel

"Even if I did it, it wouldn't be The Sopranos that was on the air—obviously at least one person is gone that we would need. There are a couple of eras that would be interesting for me to talk about, about Newark, New Jersey. One would be (the) late 60s, early 70s, about all the racial animosity, or the beginning, the really true beginning of the flood of drugs."

We don't want to get ahead of ourselves and get too excited, but this is REALLY EXCITING. HBO, David Chase, Obama, whoever it takes: pull the trigger. The mafia was far more fascinating in the 60s and 70s anyway. That's why the characters in the show were constantly lamenting about the glory of the old days.
