"Duck Dynasty: The Musical"? Yup, That’s Actually Going to Be a Thing

"Duck Dynasty" is becoming a musical for some reason, perhaps because music is dead.

What do you do when the public is growing weary of your shtick and you need to do something to recapture their attention? Do you stop publicly comparing homosexuality to bestiality? No. You turn your life into a musical, obviously.

The Robertson family of Duck Dynasty fame is doing just that, teaming with noted Broadway producer Michael David to create a musical version of their rise to enormous wealth and TV stardom. The show will open in February in Las Vegas at the Wynn Hotel, and is tentatively titled Faith, Food, and Family.

Somehow, it seems unlikely that we’ll be seeing this one at next year’s Tony Awards. Hopefully, however, it starts a trend of reality show-based musicals. Who wouldn’t want to see the Real Housewives sing about how much they love white wine and fighting with each other?
