Last week, “Drunk Girl in Public”—the newest edition in a string of street harassment-themed viral videos—hit YouTube, and the response was immediate. Jennifer Box (who portrayed the “drunk” girl) was certainly convincing, and the resulting attempts by men to lure her back to their homes were very much disturbing.

Then, a few days later, it was revealed that the entire video was fake, and that the males hired to take part in the video had been deceived into thinking they were shooting a comedic hidden camera show. They immediately decried the video’s creators and their deceptive practices.

Now, Box has spoken out about her participation as well. It seems that she, too, was deceived, and said that “had I known the damaging outcome of this video I never would have participated.”

The original video has since been removed from public viewing on YouTube.
