According to a report from 9to5Mac, Apple stores across the country have begun employee prep programs to educate them on Apple Pay, which means that the launch of the new mobile payment solution is right around the corner.
Employees are required to complete the training in the next couple of days, and a Walgreens memo that circulated to managers suggested that they be ready to accept Apple Pay as soon as October 18 (Saturday). For their part, Apple has a media event scheduled for Thursday, where they’re expected to launch the new iPads; it’s possible they could also use this event to formally announce the start date for Apple Pay, or at the very least lay out a more concrete timeline.
