"American Idol" contestant Joanne Borgella has died at age 32.

Joanne Borgella, a former American Idol contestant and plus-size model died Saturday at age 32, according to a Facebook post from her family. 

Borgella had been battling endometrial cancer for about a year.

"To God be the glory! With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Joanne. Joanne Borgella Ramirez was called by the Lord to heaven," the Facebook post said.

Borgella appeared on Season 7 of American Idol and advanced to the final 12 women before she was eliminated. After that she was on the reality series MADE, Curvy Girls and Mo'Niques Fat Chance, according to E!.

Her website says Borgella was represented by the powerful Wilhelmina Models agency.
