Disney doesn't want anyone else capitalizing off of mouse ears. Deadmau5 applied for a trademark for his logo last year, and Disney has finally taken notice and is attempting to block his application. The company says Deadmau5's logo is "nearly identical in appearance, connotation, and overall commercial impression to Disney's Mouse Ears Marks" and that it could create confusion between brands.
Clearly, the logos are similar, but it's not clear if Deadmau5 is really going to hurt the media empire. Deadmau5 himself certainly doesn't think so, tweeting:
Disney thinks you might confuse an established electronic musician / performer with a cartoon mouse. That's how stupid they think you are.

Because neither side seems to be willing to back down, this could be an ugly battle. Deadmau5 has until Oct. 12 to officially respond to Disney's objections.
