There were rumors of a sitcom back in January that would reunite Clark and Ellen Griswold, a.k.a. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, who famously teamed up for years in the National Lampoon's Vacation series. At first, there was no script and no director, but now ABC has made a commitment and Brad Kaplan (My Name is Earl, Arrested Development) will write and executive produce.
Chase and D'Angelo won't be playing the Griswolds, per se, but "a married couple whose golden years are interrupted after circumstances beyond their control are now forced to raise their grandchildren." This is also a good time to remember that the Vacation series is being rebooted with Ed Helms as a grown-up Rusty Griswold and Christina Applegate as his wife; it begins filming next week.
