The Cheers finale aired on May 20, 1993 and is still the second-most watched final episode of all time, beating out even Friends and Seinfeld for 83 million viewers. Breaking Bad got 10 million viewers during its finale, to put that in perspective. Cheers star Ted Danson was on The Late Show with David Letterman this week and looked back on that iconic episode, which was followed by a live episode of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (Friends did the same thing). Obviously, the episode was actually filmed months before, so when the cast reunited for Leno, they hadn't seen each other in a while.

“They brought us to the bar to do press, and after being apart for like six months, the show had been over, and we were all getting to see each other after six months," Danson said. "And they brought us to the bard about five or six hours early, so we were hammered! Hammered beyond belief. I think Kelsey was the straightest of us all.”

Something tells us the cast of Friends wasn't hammered during their Leno post-mortem.
