Okay, let's just forget about all of the bad things that are usually associated with Walmart (ahem, click here), and let's just bask in the glory of the low prices you might actually be interested in. Namely, on smartphones.

Look at the calendar. There's less than two weeks before September rolls around, when Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 6 on Tuesday, September 9. That means there's room to be made on store shelves, and the best way to do that is to do some slashing of the prices. So Walmart reduced the price of the iPhone 5S from $99 to $79 with a two-year contract, and cut the price of the iPhone 5C from $29 to 97 cents with a two-year contract. That's less than a can of Coke. Except you don't have to keep that can of Coke for two years, but you know the deal.

1.

The contract is the catch: Walmart is able to sell the devices way below the MSRP because they make most of their money on the contract rather than the device. The deal is in store only, so you'll have to find a Walmart if you want to cop one, but we suspect that won't be a problem.
