Complex and Team Epiphany ended their 2014 #SUMMERFRIDAYS with Animal House—a house party that had all of NYC knocking on the door. The grand finale took place at Verboten in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and had the vintage “house party” vibe that has become all too scarce in our world of clubs and lounges. When guests walked through the front door, they were met with complimentary Hennessy cocktails before heading straight to the graffiti card tables where classic games like Jenga and Connect Four were waiting to be played.
Classic movies like House Party and Old School played on Verboten’s walls throughout the night, while house party guests sipped on iced cold Belvedere cocktails, and were randomly gifted with brand new pairs of JBL headphones by blogger and photographer William Yan. Midway through the party, surprise guest DJ Mustard got on the mic and hyped everyone up before Tinashe jumped up on stage to perform her hit “2 On” for the lively crowd.
When the party ended and the lights came on, guests exited the venue, but not before cooling down with personal evian water bottles. A few lucky partygoers got to end their night with a free ride to anywhere in the five boroughs in a brand new chauffeured car, courtesy of Chevy.
All in all, it was the best house party thrown in a long time, and a great way to cap off the hugely successful 2014 #SUMMERFRIDAYS series from Complex and Team Epiphany. See you next year!
