The MTA was forced to stop service on at least two New York City subway trains this week after bedbugs were discovered on them, officials say.
Bedbugs were found aboard at least three N trains, according to the New York Daily News. Service was suspended on two trains on Sunday, and a third was shipped off to be fumigated in Coney Island yesterday. A source reportedly told the Daily News that the bugs were found inside of the cushions used by motormen and conductors.
In an effort to quell public disgust, MTA spokesman Adam Lisberg said the problem has been addressed. "When we found them, we exterminated them," he said in a statement. Though this will no doubt make your skin crawl, it's further evidence that you'll come across everything while riding the New York City subway.
