Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter sat down at the Television Critics Association and revealed some nuggets about the show's final season and possible prequel.

He admitted he’s still unsure of how the series will end:

1.

“Considering I’m a week-and-a-half behind writing episode 7, it could all change. I’ve always had a sense of where I wanted it to go, and I come in each season with a blueprint with the big arcs and mile markers. And I’ve learned over seven seasons the looser I grip that idea the better the seasons are. And this season isn’t any different. I came in with how I wanted the season to end … but things change. It’s always been heading in the same direction, but the way I’m getting there continues to change.”

Sutter did say that the final season, which apparently picks up 10 days after the last season finale, will be just as bloody. But it won’t be all gore, since there is a mention of a romance for Tig.

He also talked about a SOA prequel he's mentioned before. If it were to happen, Sutter plans on it only being one season consisting of ten-ish episodes. It would revolve around the founders of the motorcycle club.

Marilyn Manson and Courtney Love recently joined the cast for the final season.

The final season of Sons of Anarchy begins Sept. 9 on FX.
