Good news for those of us who hated Sony PlayStation 3 DualShock, thanks to a system update the PlayStation4's controller can now be wirelessly paired with PS3 consoles.
Posted by Reddit user shafiggy16, the 4.60 system update for the PS3 dropped on June 23 and was meant to "improve system software stability during use of some features." The PS4 controller can now be paired with the PS3 console through the Manage Bluetooth Devices selection in Accessory Settings.
The PS4 DualShock will register as a generic wireless controller so game compatibility can be 'meh' at times. Previously, the controller could only be used via a USB connection, but it's safe to ditch the cable.
Follow the instructions right here for a step-by-step on how to make it happen.
