Oscar Isaac, star of the 2013 film Inside Llewyn Davis and a still-unnamed role in Star Wars Episode VII, is making a move to the small screen, but only temporarily.

Isaac is confirmed to be starring alongside Catherine Keener in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, written by David Simon, creator of the HBO crime drama The Wire

The six-hour miniseries is based on a nonfiction book of the same name about a mayor battling for housing desegregation in the 1980s.

Isaac stars as Mayor Nic Wasicsko, ordered by the government to build low-income housing projects in the white neighborhoods of Yonkers, N.Y., igniting a racial controversy, crippling the city's government and ultimately destroying his political career.

Even aside from The Wire, Simon has a long history with HBO. He created the Emmy-nominated miniseries Generation Kill for the premium cable network and co-created Treme, which is nominated for an Emmy this year.
