After being spurned by CBS and banished to pitch his show to the cable networks, popular standup comedian Jim Gaffigan has found a home for his aptly-named The Jim Gaffigan Show: TV Land.

The network has agreed to do a 10 episode run of the semi-autobiographical series, which will be similar to Louie in that its basic premise is true to life. Gaffigan will play himself as the main character, will be a comedian, and will be dealing with the challenges of raising children. The rest of the cast is a bit more well-known than Louie’s, however; Ashley Williams (Victoria from How I Met Your Mother), Michael Ian Black, and Adam Goldberg will all co-star in prominent supporting roles.

In an effort to build the audience, one week after each episode debuts on TV Land it will then re-air on Comedy Central. The show will use Gaffigan’s 2013 book Dad Is Fat as its jumping off point, and will debut in 2015.

Honestly, we can’t believe it took this much effort to get the show made. How could the man who brought us this fail?
