You could argue that outside of Robert Downey Jr., no one is more vital to the success of Marvel than Tom Hiddleston, who played Loki in both Thor movies and The Avengers. Because of his classic role as the God of Mischief, Hiddleston’s stock is as high as ever, and he is primed to start taking on meatier roles to show off his range. Now, according to Deadline, Hiddleston has signed on to play one of music’s biggest icons, Hank Williams, in the upcoming biopic, I Saw the Light.
The site is reporting that in addition to playing the country star, Hiddleston will also sing all of Williams' songs throughout the movie. The film will be directed by Marc Abraham, and is based on the biography by Colin Escott. If done right, I Saw the Light could be Hiddleston’s Walk the Line.
