"Last Of Us Remastered" Gets Cheaper, But PSN Refunds Are Out

None

Good news: if you're looking forward to The Last Of Us Remastered, Sony has dropped the price of Naughty Dog's re-release from $60 to $50.

Bad news: if you already preordered a digital copy of the game through PSN, it looks like you're out $10, even as other retailers such as Amazon are offering preorder customers a $10 credit for their trouble. On the subject of the refund, Sony has stated (and it's clearly labeled on the PlayStation Store) that digital preorders purchased through PSN cannot be cancelled or refunded (the legalese reads "YOU MAY NOT CANCEL A PRE-ORDER AT ANY TIME AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERS, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS"); whether or not this is just a logistical paperwork issue or a problem Sony hasn't fixed isn't clear, but for now it looks like a case of caveat emptor.

Still, it's probalby not the best business practice in the world to simply deny customers a refund when they've already plunked down money. Maybe this will end in a happy outcome like PSN credit or something. Time will tell.
