Following Nintendo's announcement last month that it would not be able to add same sex marriage to the game where “you could do anything, “ Tomodachi Life, the developer got a lot of flak. Another game maker isn't looking to make the same public relations mistake. Developer Square Enix has announced that its massively multiplayer online world of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will soon include the option for same sex marriage.
All it will take is a patch and small download. In the future developers hope to expand the relationship component in-game no matter what sex the virtual entities are. Including special animals that only certain friends who have pledged their “love” for each other could use.
