Oakland to Legalize Pinball

Welcome to the 21st century.

The city of Oakland has elected to lift its 80-year ban on the game of pinball. Finally.

Because pinball machines were being used for gambling during the 1930s, the city prohibited them. Realizing that it's really just a game eight decades later, City Council decided to lift the ban:

Pinball machines were illegal in New York until 1976, and some cities still come down pretty hard on them:

Eighty years is a long time, but it's certainly better than never.
