Kristen Wiig is slowly taking over the comedy landscape in Hollywood, and the New York Times is reporting that the ultra-talented comedian will be making her movie directorial debut in her latest bid for dominance. The site is reporting that Wiig will reunite with her Bridesmaids writing partner, Annie Mumolo, on a new comedy for TriStar Productions. The duo will also write and star in the film.

Not much is known about the project, but this vague plot description says it will revolve around: “best friends who find themselves in over their heads and out of their depths, which were, perhaps, not too deep to begin with.”

In a statement, Wiig and Mumolo said, “We’re very excited to be writing.” They continued, “We will be going into a cave for months to finish. An actual cave. We found one that’s nice and big. We’re putting a couch in there.”

Once any concrete information is released we will pass it along.
